Coalbed Methane Desorption, Management of Field Operations, Engineering Geology

Chris Nelson is an engineering geologist with 10 years of experience in measurement of coal seam gas. Chris’s MSc was an investigation of the geotechnical characteristics of West Coast coal measures in New Zealand. He then worked as an engineering geologist for Worleys in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2000 Chris joined CRL Energy where he has carried out a range of tasks from air quality monitoring through geological investigations and international coal seam gas exploration. Chris has worked on CSG exploration projects for L&M Mining and Solid Energy in New Zealand. He started carrying out international consultancy work in CSG in 2008, on a project in Kalimantan, Indonesia for Arrow Energy. He has also carried out work for Arrow in Vietnam as well as Keeper Resources in the same country. Chris has carried out training programmes, supervision and field measurement of CSG with local staff in all the sites he has worked on. He specialises in being adaptable and effective in the field in a wide range of environments.
